Honoring Maddy
On Friday, September 4, 2026, Maddy’s family and friends gathered in El Campo, Texas to hold her close one last time and to celebrate the fierce, joyful little girl they were so lucky to love.
Her visitation was held that morning at Triska Funeral Home on Merchant Street, where those who loved her came to sit with her and with one another. At noon, her Funeral Mass was celebrated at Saint Andrew Catholic Church, full of the people, the prayers, and the songs that had carried her family all along. Afterward, Maddy was laid to rest at Procopius Cemetery in Louise, Texas, her stepfather Garrett’s hometown, in ground that already holds generations of family who came before her. The day closed with a reception at Hillje Parish Hall, on the grounds of Saint Andrew, where everyone shared a meal, traded stories, and stayed together a little while longer.
Louise is the place Maddy’s family hopes to call home again one day, once her sisters have finished school, and the place that will one day hold this generation too. It felt right that she rest there, surrounded by family, in a town that has always meant home.
